How To Restore Or Factory Reset A Dell Laptop?

‘Dell Factory Image Restore’ is a Dell utility provides a quick, clear-out solution to wipe your hard drive. The Factory Image Restore found by rebooting your computer and entering a system repair mode. It completely wipes out your C: drive and give your Dell laptop a fresh soul. Steps for Resetting a Dell Laptop
Step 1
First of all, backup your important files and data. Once, you restore your Dell laptop you won’t be able to recover any file or data. So before restoring, don’t forget to backup your important stuffs.
Step 2 Turn off your laptop. Click on the ‘Start’ menu and select ‘Shut down’. (Your computer will shut down its operating system and turn off completely within a few moments.) Or shut down your laptop using short-keys; press ‘Alt’ + ‘F4’ (simultaneously or press ‘Alt’ hold and then ‘F4’). A dialog box will appear on your desktop, choose ‘Shut down’ to turn off your laptop.
Step 3 Disconnect all peripheral devices. This includes your printer, scanner, USB flash drive, external hard drives, mobile phone, tablet, modem, and network cables. If your laptop is docked, remove it from the docking station.
Step 4 Now, turn on the laptop and wait for 5 seconds. When the Dell logo appears on the screen, press ‘F8’ several times to open the ‘Advance Boot Options’ menu. (If the advance boot options menu doesn’t open, wait for the Windows login prompt. Then restart the computer and try again.
Step 5 Go to the ‘Repair’; use arrow keys to select repair your computer and then press ‘Enter’.
Step 6 On the system recovery options menu, select a keyboard layout and click ‘Next’.
Step 7 On the next screen you can log in as a local user or the ‘Administrator’. Use the drop down menu to the right of the username: to select the local user or the Administrator account and enter the password for that account. (If you don’t want to set up an account and password, “you can leave it”.)
Step 8 You may need to select ‘Dell Factory Tools’ and then ‘Dell Factory Image Restore’. (Depends on your laptop configuration)
Step 9 Click ‘Next’ to open the ‘Confirm Data Deletion’ menu. Select the ‘Yes’ reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition check and Click ‘Next’. (The restore process may take 5 or more minutes to complete. When the operating system and factory-installed applications have been restored to factory condition, a message will appear.)
Step 10 When the restore operation is completed. Click ‘Finish’ to restart the computer. Now, you can restore any data, file, or programs you want from backup files.
